Job Description


The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the accurate and timely creation of the monthly results and consolidation working papers, assisting in the preparation of external quarterly and annual financial reporting, performing ad hoc analysis of historical results, and upholding the integrity of the accounting system at aDolus Technology Inc.


The Senior Accountant will work remotely in a fast-paced, fluid environment. They will need to think critically on their feet to maintain infallible accuracy, while working well under pressure to consistently meet stringent deadlines. They will also need to effectively manage and solve unexpected issues that inevitably arise in a rapidly expanding company.


Initial Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of accurate, timely, and reliable monthly financial statements
  • Payroll administration & processing
  • Conduct account reconciliations including Bank, payroll, AP, and AR (including analysis)
  • Manage invoice coding, entry, and journal entry preparation
  • Analyze revenues, commissions, and expenses to ensure they are recorded accurately
  • Uphold the integrity of the accounting system by maintaining the Chart Of Accounts for continued alignment with the consolidation and budget. Conduct variance analysis of budget vs. actuals
  • Support the Finance team with the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Perform regulatory filings of GST, PST, and US government taxes
  • Perform cash flow reporting
  • Prepare accounting wp’s for month-end and year-end audits
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
  • Assist in analysis, document, and monitoring of internal controls
  • Routinely examine your own methodologies to find ways of improving processes and accuracy
  • Act as a backup for the Office Manager
  • Comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as company policy
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Requirements


  • Accounting Degree
  • Accounting Designation (CPA)
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a senior role
  • Microsoft Excel (intermediate to senior-level)
  • Strong command of payroll systems - ADP and Paychex would be preferred
  • Strong working understanding of accounting software
  • Cloud-based systems
  • Cash flow management
  • Optimization of workflow processes
